Negotiation techniques

About the course

We all negotiate on a daily basis, be it with business partners, colleagues, family or friends. However, very few of us have actually been trained on how to do this in the best possible way, and even fewer actively work on continuously improving their skills, leading to sub-optimal agreements and unnecessary conflicts.

Why negotiation skills are important

Given the frequency with which we all find ourselves in negotiation situations, knowledge in this area brings great benefits:

  • Better negotiated contracts lead to greater profitability
  • Possibility of reaching an agreement at all
  • Greater ability to resolve conflicts
  • Personal development and employee satisfaction
  • Better cooperation

The above are just a few reasons why it is so important to have knowledge in the field of negotiation techniques, there are many more. One thing is for sure, there are a lot of unexplored opportunities around negotiation tables around the world just because of a lack of competence in the subject.

Starting with you

We are all different and this is something we should take advantage of in negotiations. This course is therefore based on the individual and provides techniques that can be applied regardless of your personality type. Few of us would have a brilliant Hollywood career if we tried, so playing someone else around the negotiating table is a sure way to risk failing at what you want to achieve.

For whom?

This is the course for anyone who wants to quickly improve their negotiation techniques and conflict management skills and become a successful negotiator.

The course can be organized for either one or two days. The one-day course can also be organized as two half-days to better fit into busy calendars but also to give more time to reflect on the course content. Common to both courses is that all aspects of a negotiation are discussed, from preparation to conclusion and follow-up. Theory is mixed with group discussions and practical exercises, all linked to real cases.

No prior knowledge is required for any Ponto Group course unless otherwise stated.

The course can be given in either Swedish or English.
